De lezing gaat over het ontwikkelen van de navigatieystemen, de marketing die daarbij aan de orde komt en de opbouw van de organisatie. Ook de toekomst van TomTom en de markt van navigatieystemen wordt besproken.
Managing Director Mobility Solutions Luciën Groenhuijzen has a long track record in the mobility area. Already in the '90 he was involved in setting up a tracking & tracing center based on the GPS and satellite communication. He worked for Frog Navigation Systems a company which developed outdoor unmanned vehicles systems using e.g. GPS for positioning. As of 2000 he was the managing director of the mobility solutions center of excellence of LogicaCMG. Among others Lucien introduced an innovative service package for traffic information named Mobile Traffic Services. In 2006 Lucien joined TomTom as managing director of TomTom Mobility Solutions where he is responsible for the introduction of a new navigation experience with integrated real-time traffic information. Lucien holds a Master degree in Mechanical engineering and Industrial Automation from the University of Technology of Delft in the Netherlands.
